Irctc Login Train Enquiry Railway Reservation PNR Status


IRCTC stands for Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation and its official website is It plays an important role in the field of online train ticket booking, catering services and railway tourism.

For train enquiry and railway reservation through irct and irctc.login, you have to create an account by visiting irctc registration page. For this purpose, you must have a valid email account and mobile number.

Through, you can get various information and services such as alerts and updates, SMS/USSD based Mobile booking, browse user guide, make various enquiries, know about refund rules  and prepaid booking and get other general information.

In above window, you have to enter three or four characters of Source and Destination stations and then select the type of class of travel. The various classes of travel available are First AC (1A), second AC (2A), Third Ac (3A), 3AC Economy (2E), AC Chair Car (CC), First Class (FC), Sleeper Class (SL), Second Sitting (2S).

To get the details about the trains available between the selected stations, click "Get Details". You will be taken to a new window where you can enter the date of journey, type of concession (if you are eligible for one, otherwise select none) and type of quota.

PNR stands for Passenger Name Record, which contains the details about the ticket booked by any passenger. It is a 10 digit number which is available at the top left corner of the ticket. Through PNR status check, you can get current information about a booked ticket whether it is confirmed/ RAC or waiting.

To check the PNR STATUS of your booked ticket, enter the PNR number in the following window. After entering the PNR number given on your ticket, enter the code or captcha shown on the website into a box which is below the PNR number. Click "Get Status" button after you have entered the code. The information about the current status of the booked ticket will be presented in a tabular form.

Through the same window, enquiries can also be made about Train Between Important Stations, Fare Enquiry, Seat Availability, Internet Reservation, Current Booking Availability, Reserved Train Schedule, Train Berth Availability, Availability at Major Stations etc.
