Through the website indianrail.gov.in or www.indianrail.gov.in, you can get the following information:

1. UNRESERVED MOBILE TICKETING SERVICES: Learn to book an un-Reserved Train Tickets through Mobile Application (UTS app) for Mumbai Suburban area. This app is available free of cost for Android & Windows mobile phones. There are two modes of unreserved ticket booking, one is Paper Ticket and other is Paperless Ticket. 2. Registration of Train/ Coach on Full Tariff Rate(FTR): Learn about the terms & conditions for full tariff rate (FTR) registration of trains and coaches.

3. Availability at Major Stations: You can make following enquiries:
  • Availability in Trains for Top 100 Booking Stations of Indian Railways.
  • Tatkal Availability in Trains for Top 100 Booking Stations of Indian Railways.
  • Earliest Date of Available Berths in Trains for Top 100 Booking Stations.
4. Reserved Train Schedule: You can check the schedule/ route of reserved trains by entering their name/ number.

5. National Train Enquiry System: Through enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/ntes, you can check running train status, find special trains, heritage trains, cancelled/ rescheduled/ diverted trains, train between station and other useful information.

6. SMS Service: Now all the enquiries like Train Alert, PNR Status, Train Status, Seat Availability, Train Schedule, Train Information, Train Time Table, Train Fare etc are available on your mobile phone through SMS facility to 139.

7. Current Booking Availability: You can make the Current Booking Availability Enquiry for a particular station by entering the name of the desired station.

8. Train Berth Availability: You check the Trains/ Fare/ Accommodation Availability Between Stations of your choice by entering the station names, class of travel, journey date and train type.
