Get Meal At Your Seat In Indian Railways Through TravelKhana

TravelKhana is a web-based service which lets you make online order for food to be served at your seat in Indian Railways. Fresh and hygienic food is delivered by carefully selected nearby restaurants and hotels with which TravelKhan has ties, more than 1000 in number at present. The service is available in hundreds of trains, serving more than 150 cities/ stations.

Passengers have option of numerous cuisines to choose from like North Indian, South Indian, Chinese, Mughlai, Hyderabadi, Continental, Italian, Non - Vegetarian, Vegetarian, and variety of soft drinks. Payments for orders can be made directly online while placing the order or you can also pay on delivery of the food, similar to the concept of CoD.

To book you food, visit TravelKhana website, enter train number (optional), name of source station, name of destination station, and date of travel. You can also book food by entering your PNR number. After making these entries, click "Search". You will be taken to a new screen where list of possible trains will be shown. After selecting the appropriate train, click "View Menu". A new screen will appear where you have to select "BREAKFAST", "LUNCH" or "DINNER". Depending on your meal selection and train route, names of possible stations where selected meal could be served and the names of restaurants serving the meals is displayed. You can check the menu provided by different restaurants. Clicking on the menu of a selected restaurant will take you to a new screen where you can select menu, see the price to be paid and finally make the order by clicking on "Proceed To Checkout".

While ordering food through TravelKhana, following points may please be kept in mind.
  • Payments can be made online via credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Diners), debit card (MasterCard, Visa, Maestro) from all banks, net banking with all major banks in India. You may also choose to pay Cash on Delivery to the delivery boy after receiving you meal.
  • You can make advance order before the start of your journey.
  • You can order through phone by contacting Travelkhana’s customer care executives from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at (0)8800-31-31-31.
  • Delivery time of food depends on the serving restaurant, usually between 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
  • Delivery time may be affected by the delay in arrival of train at a particular station.
  • If the train is delayed by more than two hours, you will be asked about the possible cancellation of order of food by customer care executive. Your order will be automatically cancelled if train reaches beyond working hours, which generally 11:00 p.m.
  • Cash on Delivery orders can be cancelled till one hour before the train's scheduled time of arrival at the station where your food is to be delivered by making a call to our customer support representatives at (0)8800-31-31-31. For pre-paid orders, there will be 10% deduction for cancellation up to 24 hours before delivery time, and 25% deduction for cancellation up to one hour before delivery time.
