Kalimpong - Gangtok - Darjeeling LTC Tour

IRCTC, the Indian giant in the field of travel, organises various tours and travels across India and abroad. Kalimpong - Gangtok - Darjeeling LTC tour of 6 days and 5 nights is one of them. The details of the tour are given below.

Charge: Basic rate stars at Rs. 12300/- per person.

The tour starts on DAY ONE with the arrival at NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport. IRCTC arranges the transfer of tourists from Railway Station / Airport to hotel in Kalimpong. You will be taken to visit some tourist spots such as Pine View Nursery, Golf ground, Durbin Dhara Hills, and Dr. Grahams Home. Tourists overnight stay and dinner is arranged at the hotel in Kalimpong.

Other places in and around Kalimpong which the tourists can visit on their own are Kalimpong Cactus Nursery, Deolo Hill, Zong Dhog Palri Fo Brang Monastery, Thongsha Gumpha, Crookety House, Tharpa Choling Monastery, Jaldhaka River Valley, Kalimpong Arts & Craft Centre, 7th Mile View Point, Mangal Dham and Lord Buddha Statue & Park.

On DAY TWO after breakfast, the tourists are taken to Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim. Gangtok is about 80 km from Kalimpong, a drive of about three hours. Check in to the hotel arranged by IRCTC. In the evening, tourists are taken to the M.G. Marg which is heart of the city. Arrangement of dinner and overnight stay will be made at the hotel in Gangtok.

After breakfast on DAY THREE, the the tourists will be taken for an excursion to Tsomgo lake which is at a height of about 12,400 ft and Baba Mandir, at a height of 13,200 ft. After dinner, stay at the hotel in the night in Gangtok.

Other places in and around Gangtok which the tourists can visit on their own are Hanuman Tok, Walking Tours, Ranka Monastery, Himalayan Zoological Park, Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, Banjhakri Falls, Enchey Monastery, Ganesh Tok View Point, Khangchendzonga Biosphere Reserve, Mt. Katao, Kanchendzonga National Park, Cholamu Lake, Saramsa Garden, Gonjang Monastery and Fambong La Wildlife Sanctuary.

After breakfast on DAY FOUR, IRCTC will take the tourists for half day sightseeing of Gangtok which includes visits to Tashi View Point, Ganesh Tok, Do-Drul Chorten, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Sunday Closed) & Flower Show (Orchid).

In the afternoon, tourists will be transferred to Darjeeling, which is at a distance of 100 km from Gangtok, a drive of about four hours.  Arrangement of dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Darjeeling.

On DAY FIVE, tourists will be taken to Tiger Hill early in the morning, at about 4:00 a.m. to watch the spectacular Sunrise over Mt. Khangchendzongha, worlds 3rd highest peak, with a height of 28,208 ft. On the return journey, tourists will be taken to Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop.

Breakfast will be served at the hotel. After breakfast, tourists will be taken to various places such as Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday closed) Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ava Art Gallery and Japanese Temple. Arrangement of dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Darjeeling.

After breakfast and checkout out from the hotel on DAY SIX, the tourists will be transferred to NJP Railway Station / IXB Airport for the return journey.
