Shillong - Cherrapunjee - Guwahati LTC Tour

IRCTC, the Indian giant in the field of travel, organises various tours and travels across India and abroad. Shillong - Cherrapunjee - Guwahati LTC tour of 5 days and 4 nights is one of them. The details of the tour are given below.

Charge: Basic rate stars at Rs. 10650/- per person.

The tour starts on DAY ONE with the arrival at Guwahati Airport / Railway station. IRCTC arranges the transfer of tourists from Airport to hotel in Shillong, also called "Scotland of the East". En route to Shillong, you can have glimpse of majestic Umiam Lake (Barapani), surrounded by Sylvan Hills filled with green Khasi-pines under clear blue skies. Evening is free for tourists and overnight stay is arranged at the hotel in Shillong.

After breakfast on DAY TWO, the tourists are taken to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on the Earth. While travelling to Cherrapunjee, the tourists can visit the famous elephant Falls and Shillong peak. The second day of tour is spend visiting various tourist spots in and around Cherrapunjee. These include  Mawsmai Cave, Mawsmai Falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls, Thankarang Park, Koh Ramhah and Khrem Falls. IRCTC will take the tourists back to Shillong. Arrangement of dinner and overnight stay will be made at the hotel in Shillong.

Other places in and around Cherrapunjee which the tourists can visit on their own are Double Decker Living Root Bridge, Nohkalikai Falls, Wakaba Falls, Sa-I-Mika Park, Mawkdok Dympep Valley, Dain-Thlen Falls, Mawmluh Cave, Eco Park, Ka Kper Syiem Sohra, Khasi monoliths, Don Bosco Shrine, and First Presbyterian Church.

On DAY THREE after breakfast, the the tourists will be taken to local sightseeing of Shillong to the top tourist places like Lady Hydari Park, Wards Lake, St. Cathedral Church, Don Bosco Museum . After dinner, stay at the hotel in the night.

Evening is free therefore you can visit other places in and around Shillong such as Mawlynnong Waterfall, Laitlum Canyons, Umium Lake, Elephant Falls, Shillong View Point, Mawphlang Sacred Forest, Mawjymbuin Cave, All Saints Church, Air Force Museum, Police Bazar, Iewduh Bara Bazar, David Scott Trail, Butterfly Museum, Mawlyngbna, Sweet Falls, Lumpongdeng Island, Cloud 9, Wankhar Entomology Museum, Dejavu, Bishop Falls, Khasi Heritage Village and Beadon Falls.

After breakfast on DAY FOUR, the tour moves to Guwahati which is at a distance of 130 km, a drive of about three and a half hours. After check in to the hotel, you will be taken to local sightseeing of Guwahati which includes famous Balaji Temple, Kamakhya Temple and Assam State Zoo. In the evening, tourists will be taken for river cruise at the mighty river Brahmaputra. Arrangement of dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.

Other places which the tourists can visit in and around Guwahati on their own are Kaziranga National Park, Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary, Uma Nanda Temple, Temples of Hajo, Deepor Beel Wildlife Sanctuary, Urra Tara Temple, Saraighat Bridge, ISKCON Guwahati, Assam Rajyik State Museum, Bhuvaneswari Temple, Sukreswar Temple, Navagraha Temple, Regional Science Center, Guwahati Planetarium, Basistha Ashram Temple, Fancy Bazar, Pantaloons Mall and Nehru Stadium.

Breakfast will be served at the hotel on FIFTH and final day of tour. After check out from the hotel, the tourists will be transferred to Guwahati Airport / Railway station for the return journey.
